Moreover, 2Pac’s remarkable transformation from the low profile Digital Underground sideman featured on the group’s “Same Song” just five years earlier to full-fledged ambassador of the thug life was now complete. Indeed, with the diamond-certified All Eyez on Me, Death Row’s well-deserved reputation as hip-hop hit-making machine was further solidified. Him, Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Dre, all of them. I'm gonna make it bigger than Snoop even made it.’ Not stepping on Snoop's toes he did a lot of work. Indeed, 2Pac placed lofty expectations on himself with this record, explaining in a 1996 interview for Vibe magazine that he vowed to Knight that he would “‘make Death Row the biggest label in the whole world. The ambitiously conceived, thrillingly executed head rush of an album showcases 2Pac in his rawest and most audacious form, defiantly spitting fire from deep within his heart and soul. The Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death and the Wu-Tang Clan’s Wu-Tang Forever would follow soon thereafter, but All Eyez on Me unquestionably established the blueprint for the hip-hop double LP. Released less than a year after his acclaimed Me Against the World LP and four months after Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight and Interscope Co-Founder Jimmy Iovine bailed him out of prison after serving nine months for a sexual assault conviction, All Eyez on Me was hip-hop’s first double album ever released as a single, combined package. When The Game released his better-than-expected double album The Documentary 2 and The Documentary 2.5 in two successive parts this past October, one couldn’t help but recall 2Pac’s fourth album released nearly twenty years earlier and seven months before his infamous death. Happy 20th Anniversary to 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me, originally released February 13, 1996.

The Switch doesn’t even have its online service running yet. There’s no way to play NES games on the Switch, although we can only hope that Nintendo has plans for a Virtual Console in the works. The Nintendo Switch does not have a Virtual Console right now. That’s the system that the company is currently peddling. That’s also the system that Nintendo wants them to buy. Most Nintendo fans own, or want, a Switch. There’s a key problem with the Virtual Console, though. Games from the NES era all the way to some Wii games are available to download from the Nintendo eShop, perfectly playable and not at risk of selling out in minutes. Nintendo does have the Virtual Console as a viable option. Nintendo is within its power to discontinue it, but doing so without some kind of replacement is terrible business. The NES Classic Edition allowed fans to play classic games in a legal, affordable way. People are happy to leave their sense of ethics at the door when it comes to actually having the ability to play some of the best games ever made, all without worrying about how fast they can press the “buy” button on a website or lining up hours ahead of a store opening so they can grab a hard-to-find system. Nintendo isn’t doing either for many of its customers at the moment.Įmulators are easy to build and easier to download. Here’s the thing: You can’t get upset about piracy without providing your customers a convenient and legal way to purchase your games. Maybe it was a licensing issue maybe it was Nintendo’s famous aversion to piracy. We’ve been weighing the possible reasons behind the early death of what was, by most accounts, a wonderful system. Retailers sold out of the $60 plug-and-play system, which was pre-loaded with 30 of the best games of all time, in minutes on the rare occasions that it ever had the NES Classic Edition in stock. The hardware is the prototypical example of the fallacy of demand and supply: Nintendo never, ever made enough of the system to meet consumer interest. It’s not like most of us were ever able to buy one, anyway. Final shipments are heading to North American stores this month, presumably never to be replenished. There’s the Virtual Console on Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS and there’s the NES Classic Edition, a solution to recreating the classic retro gaming experience that so many of us crave.Įxcept Nintendo discontinued the NES Classic Edition. No, Nintendo has made attempts at making its old NES games accessible on modern hardware. It would be one thing if Nintendo had been intent on locking all of its old games in a vault somewhere, untouchable by the modern gamer who missed the boat the first time around. That’s why it makes no sense that buying any of its most iconic titles - Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda chief among them - is, and has almost always been, such a pain. Nintendo has the richest back catalogue of games in the business. Records of customer communications can be kept on paper, in a spreadsheet or in a system (some unified communications platforms even keep a record of client exchanges). Is CRM a methodology and system for recording customer communications? But the thing is, are you thinking about the future? Most companies are going to want to build communications programs to automate and scale customer engagement at some point, so choose a solution that’s able to scale with your business. But if this is the only requirement, there are simplified pipeline management tools that do not include full CRM functionality. Is CRM a pipeline management solution?Īn element of CRM is deal or opportunity management, whereby sales teams manage their prospective deals through a CRM platform. This eliminates the need to retrofit strategy and programs into a piece of software further down the line. But beware: don’t touch any software until you’ve built a CRM blueprint and researched the options available to support your needs. Many feature-rich and industry-niche solutions are available, with most backed by experienced sales teams with the strategic skillset to generate client sign-ups. And when you compare engines like G2 and Capterra, you'll find that CRM is easily one of the busiest software categories out there. They also tend to favour vendors they have existing relationships with, with little consideration for company-wide value. They often make vendor decisions on which brands are allowed to be used, but with little understanding of the capabilities and inadequacies of each different piece of software. IT professionals see CRM as a piece of software that’s used by sales and marketing teams. Those from an agency tend to think in the short-term, focusing on creative executions that build databases and send out communications to segmented contact lists. People who’ve worked with brands tend to take a more holistic view of CRM, as they know there is technology involved and may have experience with a CRM program. If CRM is being used by salespeople, it’s often in a B2Benvironment and will relate to managing leads, customers and deals through a sales pipeline. Marketers see CRM as a growing database that can be segmented in different ways and is able to send personalised messages to its expanding list of contacts. This relates to sending emails and text messages to contacts in the database that have been acquired through competitions and loyalty programs. Deals are also created and managed on the platform. Here are some of the stereotypical definitions for the many different personas: Stereotypical CRM definitions: B2BĪ CRM is a system that stores and manages all customer details and leads. This leaves a gulf of ‘definition confusion’ caused by the differences between old and new CRM functionality. Instead, they’ve implemented future-forward CRM platforms that consist of interrelated functions working together seamlessly to achieve operational greatness. Many businesses that implemented a CRM early on have progressed beyond a structure where the sole owner does everything. We also hope to help you identify factors and opportunities that might have evaded your thinking thus far.īecause our backgrounds, experiences, and business contexts differ, it can be difficult to pin a CRM down to just one definition. The ultimate goal of this guide is to paint the true picture of possibilities and to assist you in making effective CRM decisions. We’ll also be tempering the expectations of those who think CRM is the miracle solution to all their business problems. This spectrum of opinion led us to write this guide, which covers and clarifies the most frequently heard definitions, roadblocks, and objections. But one thing is certain: the vast majority of professionals across industries aren’t getting as much value from CRM as they could be.Īt Huble Digital, we’ve devoted years towards becoming experts at getting maximum value from this often-misunderstood system for managing customer relationships - a decision that could be seen as a risky move, considering these different perceptions.Īlmost without fail, first interactions with prospective clients add even more layers of interpretation to what CRM is, and what it can do for businesses. While it conjures positive feelings for some, others are either frustrated, intimidated, or underwhelmed. This acronym for Customer Relationship Management means different things to different people. In spite of the brevity of Lee’s onscreen career, however, his legacy and influence are still both palpable to this day. In fact, two of his films had yet to see an official release: Enter the Dragon, which was released in August of the same year, and Game of Death, which saw a posthumous release in 1978. The tragedy sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and around the world one of the most electric martial arts stars ever to appear on film had died right at the height of his career. To call Lee’s rise meteoric is perhaps not doing his wild ascent justice - but news of his sudden death in 1973 was perhaps even more earth-shattering.Īs you may or may not know, Bruce Lee passed away suddenly in 1973 with the autopsy revealing that he had a deadly allergic reaction to an ingredient commonly used in painkillers - though the exact reason is still the source of some debate. That was quashed following the success of Lee’s first leading role in The Big Boss - and it was further shattered after his follow-up, Fist of Fury, broke the box office records of the prior film. Sadly, despite the popularity of his show and character, Lee still struggled to get roles, as Hollywood was wary of casting a person of Chinese descent as a heroic lead. After several impressive public showings of his skills - including some high-profile fights - Lee was invited to try out for a television role by producer William Dozier.Įventually, Lee was cast as Kato, a sidekick-chauffer, in The Green Hornet - which marked the first time American audiences were introduced to the grace of genuine Chinese martial arts, as opposed to the typical American fist-fight-heavy action that was popular on television up to that point. Shortly thereafter, Lee ended up dropping out of college and moving to Oakland, California to open a second martial arts studio and teach full-time. It was at this point that Lee began to teach martial arts - a form of mental and physical discipline that defined much of his life, philosophies, and his legacy. Ip man, however, chose to continue training the talented Lee privately.Īt the age of 18, Lee moved back to the United States and attended university in Seattle, Washington - where he chose to study drama, rather than philosophy (as is commonly believed). Unfortunately, training turned out to be another hurdle for Lee, as he was ostracized by his fellow students after they discovered that, while his father was Chinese, his mother was of Eurasian descent. As a child, Lee was exposed to and taught martial arts after a series of increasingly-dangerous street fights - at which point he was introduced to his now-famous mentor, grandmaster Ip Man (there are several films about this real-life martial arts legend starring Donnie Yen). While Lee was born here in the United States, he was actually raised primarily in Hong Kong, where his parents were from, alongside the rest of his family in the Kowloon area. To pay tribute to the man and his roles, we’ve put together the following ranked list of the best Bruce Lee films of all time, as well as a brief history of his life and a look at his overall impact on film and popular culture as a whole.īorn Lee Jun-fan in San Francisco’s Chinatown back in 1940, the performer that would become known as Bruce Lee was the child of a Cantonese opera singer by the name of Lee Hoi-chuen (his father) and Grace Ho (his mother). While his catalog of films is quite short, each one represents an important moment in the history of Hollywood and the emergence of the kung-fu genre as a whole. However, he had already broken out into Hollywood as one of the most exciting and novel entertainers of the day - a legacy that’s just as powerful to this day. Sadly, Lee’s life was cut abruptly short - the result of a brain edema, a fatal combination of swelling and fluid buildup in the skull. Truly, without Bruce Lee, there might not be a western understanding of martial arts and martial arts movies - at least not as we know it today. Not only was he wildly famous in his short career, but he’s remained a powerful cultural figure ever since. For martial arts entertainment, the first name that likely comes to the front of everyone’s mind is Bruce Lee. This has been seen in the cases of Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, etc. It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes a person comes along that changes the course of popular culture forever. Painter Essentials 7 is available on Mac and Windows in English, French, German, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese for $49.99 USD / $64.99 CAD / €39.99 / £34.99. Having said that, if you want to know how Corel Painter's technology feels like and don't have the budget to go there yet, Painter Essentials is a great entry point with just the right tools you need to fall in love with digital painting while having fun, even if you still don't know how to paint. All have their strengths and shortcomings, so what's considered the best program might vary from person to person. There are some great little painting programs for the low-budget market of digital painting. But my two thumbs-up comment on this process is that in Painter Essentials 7 it is SO easy! I can see newcomers having endless hours of painterly fun with this feature! You'll find many tutorials at Corel for this. There are tons of ways to play with the Auto Painting as a start, and then tweak and re-paint areas that you want to detail or add things to. I even tried it on my own traditional paintings (photos or scans of them), and it was crazy fun to re-stylize them into more painterly styles. Choose from an impressive range of AI styles for photo painting, including Bold Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Colorful Dabs, Impressionist, Smooth Acrylic, Van Gogh, Watercolor Portrait, and Charcoal Drawing. You can convert your favorite photos into paintings using neural networking and the strength of Painter's brush engine. This is great for beginners not to feel discouraged if they're trying digital painting for the first time!Īrtificial Intelligence-based Photo Painting Big brushes, dynamic speckles, you name it, I haven't suffered. Whatever I played with, even in relatively big canvases, wasn't laggy, which I find precious. Performance has been enhanced and, even though I haven't tried previous Essentials versions, I can tell. The Dab Stencils and Dynamic Speckles are not new to me, since I come from Painter 2020, but if you didn't try them, they are delightful and bring so much creative potential to the program! Besides this, after playing with all available brushes, I'm confident there is a brush for each need, especially if you're new to digital painting. I've played with all the brushes and I loved most of them. GU 13, Green Game Jam & CDLC Vibrant Cities Pack After all, the publisher has said that it would delay a game like Mass Effect: Andromeda by 'months' if it wasn't ready, so it would make fine sense for EA to delay a title to give it the very best shot at sales success. This week, Respawn Entertainment producer Drew McCoy revealed that the Titanfall 2 release date was "locked in a long time ago and there was no way of changing it," but perhaps EA will be more flexible in future to avoid similar conflicts. While it was always unlikely that EA would criticize its own decision making (publicly, at least), the decision not just to pit its games against each other, but also against Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, can be seen as a cautionary tale. And so as we think about the long game on this, we couldn't be in a better position for what we think is delivering great games to a very, very big player base." This line of thinking was echoed elsewhere in the call as EA confirmed that it is committed to the Titanfall franchise. Wilson also added that "we believe they both will have a long sale cycle, both this quarter through the festive season and deep into the years to come. During the company's latest financial call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson explained that "there's really three types of players," including "people that really love Battlefield and that kind of big strategic gameplay that will orient in that direction the player that loves the fast, fluid, kinetic gameplay of Titanfall 2 that really orient in that direction and the player that just has to play the two greatest shooters this year and will buy both." There were still doubts from fans and critics, but clearly, the publisher wasn't going to change its mind.įollowing the news that Titanfall 2's sales have been disappointing, with many pointing to Battlefield 1's proximity as the culprit, EA has again defended its release date schedule. When many suggested that the two EA-published shooters could end up 'cannibalizing' each other's sales, EA said that it was not concerned since the shooter genre of the games industry is worth $4.5 billion and that there's a "broad and diverse set of players" to cater to. For the marquee game modes to perform so poorly is inexcusable.EA defends the close release dates of Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2, standing by the fact that there are fans who love each franchise and gamers who would buy both.Įarlier this year, many were surprised to find out that the Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 release dates were just weeks apart from one another.
